Is an overlay layer allowed in advanced editing? What about the lighting effects filter?

Thanks in advance!

Different blending modes are allowed in advanced editing, but be careful with the lighting effects filter. It is allowed, but if it blacks out the background or creates a significant spotlight effect, it may be considered a new feature in the image. That could be grounds for DQ. If you have done something you think might be iffy, submit it to the SC for pre-validation.

Only of the same exposure: "You may overlay two copies of the same original file and process them differently to enhance dynamic range."

THanks for the post. It's for tonight's challenge so there might not be enough time to get it checked out. Might just leave it out then.

thanks much!
