fair enough. i can't say i understand giving a '1' for pretty much any photo. i've seen '1's on the ribbon entries which i don't get at all! also, it doesn't seem to leave a lot of room for artistic interpretation. seems very easy to take something a little bit out of the box and say 'dnmc - ...it was just shoe-horned in'.

i just started here, so, in time, i will learn how the scoring goes. thanks for helping me understand how you do it. i really will keep these things in mind and look for the other thread you mentioned.

I was really disappointed with the sort of votes I was getting. After seeing the entries, I really expected to cross the mark of 6.0 this time. But seeing the scores and messages here, yes Hell as a whole is a big disappointment. Initially I thought the low rates would be due to other contestants who are purposefully under voting. I had tried to leave comments to most of the photos I had rated. Maybe 18-20 comments altogether out of some 40 entries I've rated.

I reckon it will be a low scoring challenge overall.. any predictions on what the winning score may be? 6.7? 6.8?

You think that high? Is yours that high? lol

I'm just glad there are others scoring below 5. Mine is creeping up (above 4.7 now), but I guess that people don't see the "atmosphere" my friends and I saw in mine, and so are giving me the DNMC. Since I only have 1 (YES, ONE!) comment, I can only guess.

i finally hit 4.7...hooray!

since it's just my second challenge and my goals are not so high at this point, i'm not too disappointed. still wish that people that give less than 4 would comment something as to why they think what they do.

in my opinion there are only about 10 pictures that are worth more then six - so it will probably be top 10.

By yesterday morning it had escalated to 5.31, and now it is 5.41. I hope it will go high again... But usual scenario is it will start dropping when it nears to the last day of voting.
