A few hours ago I posted 9 shots from our trip. The rest have 4-10 views but this one;

has 39 and two faves. Why?

I'm not digging for more views and/or complements, I just honestly don't understand. I almost didn't even include it because I didn't think it was anything that great... ?

I have not looked at your others, but it's just very colorful and has a unique effect throught that frosted glass. Also, it is the kind of shot that stands out in the thumbnail, so you want to look at it closer. Just goes to show you can never predict a hit with any certainty.

Now I will have to go look at your others.

Hey BeeCee, very nice photo! I know sometimes I just click Photos / Browse in the DPC menu bar. The default view is of recently commented photos. I think once a photo hits that page it opens the floodgates to more views!

Congrats on the faves, by the way. :-)

Ooohhh, that IS nice! Apart from the pretty colors and textures, it also has intrigue as to what else is lurking that we can't quite see.
Nice photo!

Beetle, I never thought of that; thanks for the insight :)

Just one tiny bump to see if anyone else can enlighten me further... it really did take me by surprise and I'd like to learn the secret so I can attempt to repeat it ;)

I have to say that pink is one of my favorite colors. Whenever I see something that is predominantly pink my eyes naturally gravitate towards it and I just had to click on this one LOL. I am not taking the mickey out of you I am being serious, I am the same in shops with materials or clothing or anything, I will always look at the pink stuff first. Well that is part of my reason anyway, the other is that it is really different and works beautifully. Nice shot.

I am going to put this in the comments on the shot too!!

Guessing here...but a look at the thumbnail, on first glance, I said to myself "why would someone post a blurry, out of focus picture?" Then naturally I clicked on the thumb and viewed the picture whole as submitted and the appearance is quite different. Perhaps others experienced something similar.

Ahhhh!! Hmmm... maybe I can make use of that in the future...
Thanks!

Funny how we can perceive things in a different manner.

When I first looked at the thumbnail, I was immediately drawn to it as I believed it to be either something dealing with impressionism or perhaps even an aquarelle. Having piqued my interest I clicked on the thumbnail and am now gazing at a very interesting image, replete with fantastic colours.

You have done well with this one and should not be surprised that it garners a significant number of views. Well done.

And now I've learned a new word. :) Thanks, Ray!

As for you BeeCee, you created a beautiful image, so people are recognizing it.

If you go find the ongoing blur side challenge thread and post it there, I can guarantee you a whole bunch more views, comments, and faves. :) Has goodman seen it yet?

Wow, thanks sooo much, everyone! Guess it just proves that I really can't trust my own judgement, as I always suspected :D
