I did a favour for a friend today who works for a hospice.
She asked me to take some photos of their garden to be used in thier newsletters, brochures etc.
Like most hospices in NZ it is run totally with donations.
She wanted close ups, views of the garden, any statues etc and the house with the gardens.
I only found 2 statues! I could'nt really take photos of the house as there was a large family with a patient on the verandah. Did'nt want to seem disrespectful quite apart from privavcy laws!
Dont think my lenses are good for wide shots and they are not what I am terribly intertested in. I noticed my wider shots are not very sharp.
I enjoyed the macro shots mainly.
It was a good learning experience especially as I did it all in manual and had to keep on changing settings as I moved from light to shade. Next time I would take pegs to keep away stray stalks, branches etc. and a set of scissors to deadhead plants I want to photograph!
I am now down to choosing which ones to process. Which ones do you like? Any hints on processing.... am thinking I proabably should process them all the same but I'm not sure? I've heard of batch processing but never done it. Can it be done with RAW images? Are there any actions out there I can use that are good for this type of photography?
Appreciate any comments or helpful hints :)
These are RAW images straight out of the camera just resized I know some will need cropping otherwise am open to suggestions :)

You have some very nice images there. You do know that garden and flower/plant photography can be a very lucrative field if you can get into it.
Seed catalogues
magazines
brochures etc.
and they quite often dont want the images as sharp as the dpc voters seem to feel is needed! :) |

Yes and there is no trouble with the models! Trouble is I'm in NZ and I dont know if it's really lucrative here. |

Beautiful shots! I love flower photography.
I have not used batch processing, I kinda feel each image has its own set of needs so I do them each individually. So I'm no help for you.
I wish I could go set in that garden with my camera, its so cold and dreary here.
