I would like to make up a web site for my photos. I can't justify spending big bucks but am willing to put in the time. Are there places where you can set up a web page for free or cheap? What do I need to keep in mind. I would like my photos to be accessible. I would like to have a section of my photos for purchase and I would like to be able to post pictures and give people a password (or whatever) so they can access their photos. I dont necessarily need them to be able to order online (but this would be preferable), as they could probably come into my shop with a list of numbers etc.

My son has set up a web page before so he could probably help me with that part of it.

Any suggestions, comment and advice would be great.

You could try Tripod

You can get a free site, add things like Purchase with PayPal etc...

It should all be free. Your URL is what is the negative side to this, also the fact that your site will have random ad's on it...

You could also check out Bravenet Hosting

Good luck.

What is URL. Does it have something to do with the web address?

Yeah sorry, URL is the address of the website. So with most, if not all, free hosting site's, your website address would look something like:

www.yoursite.tripod.com or www.yoursite.bravenet.com

You can get a short url from 3rd party sites, but they have their own ad's , but the benefit is the shorter url. So something like:

www.yoursite.tk or www.yoursite.vze.com

Just as examples.

Yes.

URL = Internet Address

This may help.

You might want to check with your existing ISP, or the folks you get your Internet from. They often offer webspace for free or cheap and can usually grow to whatever you need.

I would recommend purchasing a url(web address) for your business and a hosting plan. Some domain registrars offer a free limited hosting plan with your domain purchase and paid plans as well.
