Well my new lens is on its way, and I should have it in tomorrows mail.....
I am so excited, and would like to thank everyone for there help and suggestions

Well it has arrived and in my hot little hands.....
Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM lens
Yes my new macro lens is here, and I am so excited, not sure what to do next.....
I will get the nerves settled, and hopefully have a go later today taking some macros shots.....
I will post my results, that is if they turn out ok.....

| Sher, don't forget that it will take good portrait photos too if you've got the room to step back a few feet. Enjoy your new tool and remember to try the larger F-stops to help increase DOF with this lens. Since you're shooting on a tripod that shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy! |

Make that the 'smaller" f/stops, please. Small apertures = more DOF, large apertures = less DOF. Granted, the terminology is confusing since "f/22" seems like a larger number than "f/4", but you have to understand those numbers are reciprocals. That is to say, f/22 has an aperture diameter 1/22nd of the focal length of the lens, whereas f/4 delivers an aperture 1/4th of the focal length of the lens.
