I am an amateur by every definition of the word. I am in the market for a new entry level camera, mainly to shoot pictures of my 16 month old daughter.
I have a simple point and shoot digital camera right now. She has become very active, and taking pictures of her has become a serious challenge! Pictures often come out blurry, regardless of what I do.
I have been researching a handfull of cameras. Some of them include;
Canon Powershot s5, Kodak Easyshare z812, and the Sony Cyber-shot dsc-h3.
I am wondering what you folks recommend? Suggestions? |

My suggestion would be to learn a little more with what you have in the way of technique before you go and spend money.
Look at some of the shots that have been taken with the same camera you currently have.....quite a few 6+ shots.
Then decide which way you want to go down the road.

the cyber shot should do you well. I know a couple of peeps that have it and are happy with it. The manual settings are really decent.

or if you are interested in slowing getting in an SLR you can always get a used rebel 300 or 350 for a couple of hundred and get a canon 50mm f1.8 lens for $70 bucks new which is awesome. Then you would have no problems at all.
