Impact 60 inch convertible umbrellas
Perfect for full body portraits. And that free shipping is gonna save you a bit of dough.
Just thought I'd share... just picked up another a few minutes ago.
Looks like they are offering Free shipping on a lot of Impact brand items.

Cool... I'd never heard of 60" umbrellas. I just ordered 2. They'll come in handy next week!

I've used a Photoflex 60" umbrella for years. They take up a lot of realastate, but they do spread the light out. The Photoflex is only $38.00. I know they make good umbrellas. I don't know about the Impact though.
You do need enough light power to take advantage of the whole thing though. You won't be able to light it up with your Vivatar 283 or 285. :D

Those be them :-) They do quite nicely. I like to use them reflective for key and shoot through for fill. Makes light set up easy.
They do take up lots of space and can be like a sail boat out doors, but in the "studio" you can't do much better for full body.

So a 60'' umbrella is good for full body??
Right now I have a 48'' umbrella and a 24''x34'' softbox and have found that it is difficult to do full body....maybe i am just not placing them well.... |

Generally, your light source should be about the size of your subject for studio lighting. 60 inches is good for adult full body. 45-48 inches are good for 3/4 adult or child full body.
A 24-34 softbox is generally used for head and shoulders or waist up portraits.
