Upgrade..
After much research I found the following on the internet, all with AAA ratings with the BBB.
Canon 5D $1,949.00
Canon 70-200 2.8L IS $1,417.40
Canon 580EX II flash $350
Ok, how well did I do?

The question what Gary Fong, Lightsphere, or would you go for the Whale-tail diffuser by the same name?

The other upgrade is for someone else, for a good price in about 2 weeks..
Cannon 400D Xti, w/ 18-55 F/3.5-5.6, box and all the stuff, and
Canon 70-200 F/4L
Both in very good condition . Cleanâ€Â¦.$1,100

What is it you're looking for? Do you want to know if those prices are good? What are you using this equipment for? Weddings? Portraits? Landscapes? Is photography a profession or hobby?

I hope the prices are good.
The photography all the above, but I want more ISO control.
Amateur with a pipedream.

I don't know how those prices stack up, but the 5D is a good choice if you want to be able to push the ISO.

the 5d rules. The colours are a lot nicer than on the 400d. thats pretty much the standard price for the body too, they go on ebay from reputable dealers for about $1600 so that could be an option. As for the lens, I wasn't a great fan of the F2.8 version, it's faster, but not as sharp looking as the F4 IS version.

And it doesn't matter what you're using it for, the 5d can do it all except hardcore sports where you need 10 fps, btu unless you're in the press, don't worry about it. Just buy it.
