I'm taking a jounralism class at Salt Lake Community College. One of the things that we have to do each week is write articles for the school's newspaper. I went and talked to the editor and this week I am going to write an article about DPChallenge. I was wondering if I could get members to post a quote about what they think of the Challenges, Website as a whole, DPCPrints, and how the site has helped them photographically. Then I can take the quotes and use them in my article, quotes make it more personal as my professor says :) Thank you ahead for your time to help out. |

Wow, sounds pretty fun, sure, why not, here it goes:
"I cam into this site not really knowing what to expect. I was a beginner photographer looking for a place to be with other photographers to get insight on how to grow. The challenges offer a unique way of creating a medium to learn. You receive so many comments from photographers who give you tips and pointers on how the shot could be improved. I have been on this site for 3.5 months and I have grown so much as a photographer. The people here are very involved with the site and are extremely friendly and nice. They try to keep in high regards the integrity of the site. I encourage anyone who is into digital photography to look at DPC for a new and exciting way to look at the world around you with a completely new perspective." -Matthew Dykman (aka goinskiing)

Here's mine:
I stumbled across DPC in June of 2002, looking for online digital photo contest sites to help me improve my photographic skills. Even though I was a casual (film) photog for 20+ years, and had shot digital for 2.5 years, I was really in "snapshooter" mode most of the time. DPC was completley free at the time, so the price was right... I quickly became addicted to the close-knit community, and when DPC introduced added features for paid membership, I immediately signed up.
My photography has improved markedly in the last 20 months, and I also have had a bunch of fun commnicating with the wonderful world-wide community on DPC. I think DPC has a winning formula, and I hope the site continues to prosper as it has over the past two years.
