| I need to pickup a CP for my lenses and I was wondering what is the difference. I haven't done much research so I figured dpchallenge would be a good place to start. What makes a 10$ Circular Polarizer on eBay any different than one for 50$? |

Just like any piece of glass you put in front of your camera, it's all about quality. Typically anyway, the more expensive filters will have better clarity and usually come with antiglare coating where the cheaper ones do not.
Anyone got anything else to add?

Depends on what you are doing with it. My CP rarely is used, so I'm not so concerned about quality. Now, if I were a landscape photog, I might be more concerned.
But yes, the more expensive ones do tend to be higher quality. |

The size makes a difference too. a 77mm polarizer is going to be much more than a 55mm polarizer.
BTW, got one for sale for $25 over in the for sale section here. |
