DPC portrait gurus...

I did a brief photoshoot for holiday gifts for the "Mom's/ Grandmas". Here are a couple of the shots from the shoot.

I would really be interested in some feedback so that I can post process these a bit better (people editing is not my cup of tea)

Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah - Thanks to brownsm who let me borrow his brand spanking new 5D and razor sharp 24-70 2.8L lens

Awesome comments folks. Thanks for each of them. I am trying to learn, and you have all helped me start figuring this stuff out.

So, what can I do with the pictures now that I have them. These are it and I will not be able to reshoot. What processing can I do on these (even with the obvious flaws you all found)? :-)

First of all your lighting and dof is fabulous!!

I've noticed that you basically shot them all shooting upwards but I like to stand in a higher place and shoot down. When people are looking down at you the faces and necks are not as attractive IMHO. Also, because the photos revolve around a sporty theme, some fun shots of everyone in a huddle, playing with the ball, or laying in the grass would have been fun too!
