This would be a one time event - because of the extra work - but here goes.

1 - Every entrant is required to vote and comment on all other entries.
2 - The comment should give the score and a thoughtful rationale for the score.
3 - Comments are all bagheads during the voting. All comments for each photo are available during voting ( this might be difficult due to programming )
4 - Basic editing
5 - Theme - exclusives - Favorite outdoor subject - Favorite indoor subject

I think thoughtful comments would really help less experienced photographers. I think requiring comments about why one voted a certain way would help people learn more about why they vote a certain way.

Obviously, if people have to comment why they gave a certain score - scores would not be secret.

Maybe this isn't workable - but it would sure be nice to find out why people give the scores they do.

I think this wouldn't work for a challenge, because of the option to vote on only 20%, and I think something of the joy is taken out of a challenge when we are required to critique, explain ourselves, etc. Would probably therefore be a very low entry challenge.

You can also post your entry in the forums after the challenge and ask for critiques and opinions. This will help you find out the minds of voters to a certain degree, and will help you hone your next entry.

I think this could work as an extra challenge, not one of the regularly scheduled. I would make it a Free Study.
