I had the greatest family session today. These guys were so much fun I hated to see them leave. They were all really easy going and willing to let me try some non-traditional ideas for their family portraits. Below is a small selection of what turned out to be a very large gallery. Does the stark white background bother you? My alternatives were black, red and gray so I thought white was probably the best choice so everyone would stand out well...... I did add the plaid blanket though to ground them.

We all had a great time. I have another session scheduled in a few weeks with mom & the new baby, I can't wait.

I also want to invite mom back to do some stock sessions with me, don't you think she'd be great!?!?! :)

Awee, thanks, Scott. Really its the models that make or break a session and these guys were terrific.

Cindi, those are wonderful! I really like the first one, and the contrast between it and the sixth (which seems to be more 'traditional') makes it really stand out in the group you posted. I imagine they were really, really happy with these and will generate a lot of word of mouth business for you! Congrats!

I love them all very much, only one really has something that bothers me a bit. I wish you hadnt cut off the baby's foot in the one by himself.

Me too, Matt; luckily I have about 20 of baby by himself, so they should find some they like. But again, today's session was about the family -- the next session will be all about baby. :)

Eric, they haven't seen them yet. I promised their gallery would be ready by Wednesday, but was so excited after our session that I got them all processed today - moments before I posted here. Just had to show them to someone!! I can't wait 'till they see them, I think they'll be very pleased.

I created a collage for this group..... but I'm not loving it. It looks to need something but I can't put my finger on what. Any thoughts?

For me my eye craves the center image to be full color and the outside lower images to be slightly desat. But for me that would only be a minor desire. Really liked all the shots.

I love this series so very much and thank you for sharing iy with us.....

Suggesation re the collage; Maybe a Thick matt like border around the collage to bring it all together..... Also maybe some more soft grey shading to the white areas in the background closer to the figures.
