rating of my pictures tend to rise in the first 50-60 votes.. and after that it starts a steeep decline for the next 50-60 votes(it generally drops a whole point) and starts to stagnate for about 50 votes and slowly comes up about .3-.4 point int he next 50-60 votes... is this what everone else is experiencing? or is there some evil force holding me back? |

Happens to me too, best I can explain it is people vote for the ones they really like first. So you get your highest votes right away. next come the group of people who are voting on them all, and they are often tired or grouchy after looking at so many in a row. Finally the people who look at each one and judge it on it's own merrit, balancing out the score at the end. But ya, same trend happens with my shots it seems especially in the upper-middle section. Maybe that is only because there are SOMEONE in the first wave of voters who really likes them, yet something to dislike for those who are really looking for flaws.
*chuckle* My other explaination that everyone must be out to get me, by falsely raising my hopes seems to be a bit parnoid. |

Sounds pretty "normal", whatever that is.

My theory is the people who vote the first night of the challenge are either sleep deprived or innebriated, and very loose with their votes - hence the nice high cliff off which to plunge. The next morning you get a lot of grumpy folks who are in a bad mood, and they push you over the edge.
Hey, maybe there's a research grant just waiting for some lucky math major working on their doctoral thesis - the voting patterns of digital photographers. |

all of the adults vote early in the day when they are at work, and the youngsters have to wait until they get their homework donee before they can use the computer. I'm blaming the younger generation for my low scores. |

And then there are those of us for whom your Midnight is our 9:00pm. We happily vote our free and easy ideas so it takes until the next AM (while we are sleeping in) for you folks to temper the mix. :>)) |

or is it the butterflies flapping their wings in china, bringing mayhem to the voting and disdurbing the delicate balance of universal forces and photography... my mind ponders... |

or is it the butterflies flapping their wings in china,
I blame Aston Kutchner(sp?)
How does one find out how the voting is going?
I can't seem to find the link. |

At 35 you call yourself old...
Sigh! I was hoping that life would begin at 40.

That's also my experience. I'm actually making line charts to try to figure it out! LOL |

I also experience the same pattern. With my last entry I went down and hovered pretty constant. Then on the last night it hadn't changed the last time I looked. The final result when I checked it had gone up 0.3 in the last few hours! |
