All fake...like the moon shot...the shuttle does not really exist. |

You mean the Endeavour doesn't exist? Or it's not real in the photos? |

Anyone know what landmass that is below in the second photo. Almost looks like New Zealand.

Maybe Australia, with Port Morseby off to the right?

It appears to me to be New Zealand from Christchurch (bottom left of picture) to Wellington (top right of picture).

You can get really clear photos shooting in a vacuum. :-)
Here are some more links for space photos:
NASA's Planetary Photojournal â€Â¢ Space photos
NASA's Earth Observatory â€Â¢ Satellite photos of Earth
Earth From Space â€Â¢ Astronaut photos
NASA's Visible Earth â€Â¢ All kinds of pictures of Earth
Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth â€Â¢ More astronaut photos, or maybe another route to the same galleries ...?
Most of these galleries have links to high-resolution versions available for free downloads for personal (non-commercial) use -- but still be sure to check the terms of use at each site.

Yeah, I think up until recently they were shooting with Kodak dSLRs with lenses ranging from about 50-800mm. I think lately they've acquired a pool of Nikon equipment.

wow those are pretty amazing. The real question here is whether NASA is Team Canon or Team Nikon. I suspect it is the former.
Edit: oops! Maybe not then
