About advanced editing rules: Taken from a single picture... no multi-image composition... for example I take a flower and a vase side-by-side on the same picture and then I put the flower in the vase by editing. Would that be good?

You can swap cat inside the fishbowl and fish watching ,it's fine with me :-)

But I would think that will go too far as rules are concerned!

IMHO this would be Digital Art more than Digital Photography.

I agree. I'm not a "advanced rules" fan myself. I've just been away for a while so just wanted to catch up with this new rule.

regardless of how it will be defined, under the rules, as long as you aer using one image, it is allowed.

It's impossible to tell from this information if it would be good. It would be "legal."

You have to ask yourself, why would you want to move a flower from one part of the picture to another part. In this example, it would be easier to just shoot a picture of a flower in a vase instead. :)

The point is, if you can't setup the shot initially to get the effect/message you want, why bother with the shot at all? I think that digit art like this only makes sense when you are trying to achieve something that is nearly impossible to create otherwise. If you don't move that flower over to the vase perfectly, you will get HAMMERED by the voters because they will realize that what was done was meant to decieve instead of obviously digital art.

Its not stetching the rules at all, its exploiting them... that is what rules are for. If you can't tell its "Digital art" then it doesn't matter.
I was and am against the current rules, but that is because I could see this happening from the start, if you don't appreciate what you can do then hows about a rule change?

because it's legal and I can do it in Photoshop.....

Pandora's box has been opened....the horse is out of the barn....

guy one would put the flower in the vase for his shot, but if the other was done well maybe there wouldn't be any noticable difference...
