Hey fellow DPCers... I've posted my review of the Wacom Intuos3 Graphic Tablet... Hope you all agree.

Nice review Kevin. I am stuck trying to make the choice 6x8 or 9x12. Seems about half like one size, and half like the other with a small amount of people not liking them at all. There's not much cost difference between the two sizes, I guess it's mostly preference.

I have the Wacom Intuos3 Graphic Tablet. It's a great tablet and I really like the touch sensitive pen. I don't use the mouse to much it's precise when I do. The only con that I have found with the tablet is the Left and Right keys on the tablet. They do not protect the tablet enough. One drop (especially on the left site where the cord comes in) of water will render your tablet useless until you send it to repair.

I think I paid $449 for the tablet and it came with Adobe elements. As a bonus on the Wacom CD it gives you the option to upgrade to Adobe CS3 for only $299. So I got both CS3 and the tablet for around the regular price of CS3. And it's not the upgrade version of CS3, it's the full version.

Sounds like you bought the 9x12. How long did it take to become comfortable using the pen?

Great investment if you do a lot of editing. Takes a few days to get used to the pen. Once you're used to it you pretty much won't use the mouse at all in PS.

I don't know that I do a lot of editing. I guess I am just really impressed as I have watched others use the pen to do some really amazing work. Kinda like watching an artist paint with a brush and you think if you buy the brush you'll be just as talented.... not.

Most of the editing I do is limited to levels and curves. However I would like to learn more about masking and for that the pen looks like the easiest tool to use?

You can play a great game of Minesweep with the pen.

;D
