"Image privileged to be taken by, ______________, Photographer.

And that seems a little klunky, but I know what this has felt like to me.

I had trouble reading the blog this morning what with it being misty and all here.

These women are so beautiful and strong, inside and out, it just makes me feel honored to be in the same "room" with them.....I would *so* be a blubbering idiot if we all got together!

What heroes, what faith, what strength in the face of possible death and no guarantees!

Wow.....

I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I lost my Mom to breast cancer.

I'm still hazy on the exact details.....I couldn't bear to ask for the minutiae, she was diagnosed in 1975, and she had a radical double mastectomy. She died six months later.

She died when I was 20, she was my best friend in the whole world and I really miss that she never got a chance to meet my wife, and especially, my daughter, her grandaughter.

She was such a special person that I felt tremendous guilt because I never really mourned her, and I didn't know why and felt terrible about it. Due to changes in my life, let's just call it an awakening, I got to deal with some of my issues and got the chance to realize that my Mom was such an amazingly decent, kind, and good human being that I have been so grateful that I not only had the pleasure of just knowing this amazing woman, but I feel privileged to have had her for my mother.

Everything that is good and decent about me came from my mother's teaching in thought, word, and deed.

So, not to put too fine a point on it (Too late, I know!), I don't have much use for breast cancer.

These women are ALL my heroes!

Although I feel like it was more of a privilege.

I am so glad I was a part of this. I will put a link on my site to the blog so people that go to my site even though it might not be many can see the link. I also posted a bulletin on myspace. I will email the newspapers tonight and see if I can get them to run something on it.

My thanks not only goes out to all the people that have helped in this in any way(models, photographers, and anyone that offered advice or words of encouragement)

Special thanks to TCGuru(I think you should change your username to JoJo) for making me realize I don't suck as much as I think I do. You will never know what a special friend you have become.

Just a little pass-along. I get a newsletter from the Be Nice or Else organization from a man named Winn Claybaugh. He's a grreat fellow who in spite of his stautus, always finds time for the little guys and the right things in life. I sent him a note about our calendar. This was his response:
"Hi Jeb:

Thanks for your email. PLEASE send me the link and a copy of the calendar so that I can promote it through my newsletters and network.

You're a true inspiration, and I would be honored to support you efforts.

XOXO, Winn Claybaugh

Clueless! LOL!!!!

As far as the calendar, I'll take a side in that argument over who gets to pay for it, BUT......can we just get one to him in the most direct manner?

If you should happen to go to his site, you'll find that he's a top-flight motivational speaker as well as a thoughtful, kind, and considerate man. I think he'll be a serious asset to this project.

As far as I'm concerned, you could send him a half dozen or so, and I'm sure most of us would throw in something to get that kind of exposure....count me in! I'd love it if this went big!

The Calendar for the Cure department of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, every year being populated with survivors, friends and family?????

Where do I sign?.....8>)

Normally, I would not have written to someone such as this, he is after all, VERY involved in a lot of good works, but he has taken time in the past to reply to this regular guy and I thought he may have an interest.

To my surprise and delight, he replied promptly and with interest. I'm MOST impressed. I like it when real people get big, yet stay real.

just talked with ericwoo he is on a plane on his way back home. He could not find anyone despite the fact of posting everywhere he knew and with the little help I could offer him. If we already have someone waiting to take his month then we need to do so.

Would moving the cover shot into the calendar and having a more generic cover help. Someone offered a beautiful photo with a pink flower earlier on in the thread. We could use that for the Cover. This is only a suggestion if we are stuck for time etc.

Maybe the covergirl can be on the cover and a month. If not let me know. If you can give me until Monday I will try my hardest to find another survivor.

Can we not contact someone with the Susan B. Komen foundation and ask for someone to volunteer? //ww5.komen.org/home/
