Really all of us? I was presenting the "Expectation of privacy in public" issue. Does that make me a pig and in need of your condemnation?

No, see my bold above.

I was gonna post something but I don't want Pam to be ashamed of me so I'll keep it to myself.

I'm ashamed of you for not posting it ;-)

I'm not trying to stop anyone from posting. All I am doing is trying to ensure that there is appropriate legitimacy to the objections voiced in this thread.

What I am ashamed of is the attitude that states, as if it known and established fact, everyone was joking and all those who have objected to the actions of the canon exec (the "perv") are just engaged in an exercise of histrionics.

Please do post your views, Dave. I did not mean to stop you from voicing your thoughts.

Doesn't anyone look at smoking gun???? I think this is the image he took.. My take on this is simple..

If you don't want someone viewing your crotch, then don't stick it out for everyone to see.. I would be horrified if myself or one of my girlfriends CHOSE to sit like this at a photo shoot or any other place, other then in the privacy of her own home.. Come on now.. Would you as a women be caught dead sitting in this director's chair, wearing the itty bitty skirt that obviously hides nothing in this position, and then be surprised when someone takes a picture or gawk's at you !!! Also, is this image really so shocking that it would warrant any reaction at all..

The perv's image !!!

Besides, the story is not even about this image by itself.. It's about another peron being fired for complaining about this guy taking these type's of images..

That is the image?

OMG, I'm sooo effing done with this thread. That image is about as much of a non-issue as I have ever seen. Shame on Canon!

that image wasn't even worth the "This thread is worthless without pics" post.

The tennis star in question promotes the products of a company that has a history of contracting with overseas factories with horrid and abusive working conditions. 90% of those factory workers are women. Surveillance cameras are all over these factories and there have been reports of sexual abuse. I would be very surprised if she was unaware of this and I just find this a little ironic given the current situation/discussion.

I read somewhere that Sharapova likes to make lots of money to help people. I certainly hope that some of that money is going towards helping the exploited workers and to changing the labor issues in those countries.

That's ok.... Muckpond will probably be locking this thread soon too.....:P Too bad, I learned alot from the invasion of privacy link...Go pats.

the privacy discussion is a very interesting one, I agree.

I think the actual photo, while interesting, sure doesn't change my views about such photography in general, or about societal attitudes regarding women, and women who speak up. Plus I'd really call that a picture of her fanny.

for the record, the other threads were locked because they were both created for the purposes of baiting users. you guys are welcome to show your true colors and state your opinions all you want -- just keep it to one, easily-ignorable thread.

This is my last off topic post as this is not my fight but the assumption that he started the other thread to bait users is a stretch.

He found this link //www.amazingjokes.com/ ,thought it funny and posted it here. To me he is guilty of bad timing.

I am done thanks for understanding.

You have source to substantiate this? I thought Canon was an overseas company.
