 Before..very hazy day, more rain...blah blah blah
 Did some editing with shadows, highlights, curves, burn tool and contrast.
Day 6 for me I'm a day behind.

Just want to thank everyone that has been commenting on my photos. This is the first time I've actually really gotten involved in a side challenge and been consistent in posting. What a great learning experience.

 pennyj1957 glad you joined up. My personal opinion is that these side challenges are the best part of DPC, except for the magnificent people, of course.

I've been tied up with work and sick kids. Today I finally had a chance to get out and get some pics! So, this has been a push of a different sort I guess. I just figure I do what I can, when I can. At least it gives me a subject to focus on when out shooting!

This area is in the most extreme drought in it's recorded history, so this is a shot of where the water should be. Normally there would be water waist deep at the center of this pond, but this year it is only damp there.
I will try to catch up on comments when I return from the trip to Mexico the 20th. Thanks everyone, for the helpful comments and very enjoyable images shared so far in this thread.

Oh, tinky2, I was hoping you would get to Morro Rock soon. That's a super image with the reflection and all.
Meanwhile, I'm posting double here. I'm in the November photo essay challenge too, and have shown a few Oil Spill picturse, so check it out and: and see some water images that also fit here. I'll do another set on the Marin Headlands soon. While the first set really doesn't get "down and dirty" the next series will. Frankly, it was pretty awful to look at today.

Thank you for sharing your photos of that tragic event. I cannot quit thinking about the damage done to the wildlife. |
