Hey guys,
I have been asked to design a logo for a band, which is fine, but now they have decided they want to use the logo to promote themselves... the problem is they asked me about copyright issues with it:
That's the logo they want to go for... The eblem thing was taken from a wibdings font, which I got it from a website where they usually let's everyone download fonts for free. The 1s that I use did say "free for personal use"
Sorry but I don't know much about copyright issues, but I did change the eblem design a bit heres the original:
=/ altho I doubt the band will become multi-internationally famous, I'm hoping it should be ok?
ANY replies would be great
Thanks in advance =)

I don't think that a band using it as their logo falls under "personal use". |

That isn't the issue: the issue is whether the original is modified enough to become something new. I don't think it has been. Booboo can always try to find the creator of the webdings and ask for permission; he'd probably get it.

I don't think it has either, but the OP mentioned the fact that they were "free for personal use". |

wht you could do, is copy the wingding look and reconstruct your own lettering off of it, just to be safe |
