Can one clone out small portions of face shadows in advance editing?
I mean like small areas around the eye that are that have shadows due to a hat or something?

You can certainly dodge them.

And if anyone can answer this I'd be grateful (sorry for the hijack) - can I clone out clouds in advanced?

(yes, I know I should have asked earlier - GRIN!)

Yes...but just to be sure it is better to send a ticket to SC with a link to a small version of the original and the challenge submission.

Depending on whether they are classed as a major element...again...submit a ticket to SC.
