Has anyone used the Bogen Camera Clamp with DSLR? If so, in what applications? What was it mounted to? I assume it attaches to the camera's tripod mount?

I've never used one to hold a camera, but I've used them on C-stands to hold diffusers in front of lights.

That's kinda what I was getting at...to find out if they strong and reliable enough to hold a DSLR.

In the business I call a career, the more common name for that particular clamp is called a "maffer".

Don't know where the name comes from. Prolly from the guy who first designed it.

Maffer clamps are like a third hand. They can clamp onto anything. C-stand, baby riser stands, junior riser stands, doors, pipe, windows, beams, and yes, your camera. Just about anything you can thing of basically. It's a clamp.

Use it for what ever you need it for. Umbrella, diffusion, netting, bounce, reflector, antenna, wireless, what ever. It's a clamp.

Good luck.
