Reads a bit differently if you don't remove the 'further elaboration' part.

It is my understanding that with the varied cultures, ethnicities, sensibilities and talent levels represented on DPC, if you submit a provocative photo you can expect provacative comments to follow. Those comments should not be condemning or personal but on an open register site like DPC i think that might be regrettably unavoidable.
In the end, while i stand by my comment on the photo, I wish i had not made it. If it seemed like a "pile on' and caused someone to remove their submission then I failed to explain my opinion properly. This will make me reluctant to post comments, other than positives, for other submissions in the future.

Don't be afraid to post negative feedback. People should have spine enough to take the bad with the good or else they should go elsewhere with their entries.

Or, it will make you consider your comment carefully. Is it directly relevant to the photograph? Does it refrain from denigrating the personality of the photographer? Does it take into consideration any models used, and how they might regard the reception of the photo? Is it constructive, even if expressing poor quality, poor skills, etc.? If yes to these, your comment is fine. If no to one or more, reconsider commenting at all.

I see this thread lost his course 20 minutes after begin. It seems there is more interesting to judge attitudes, posture, morality, sincerity, and integrity of members, than to contribute with comments about the image, and title. I understood that was the objective, and the unique reason by which this photo did not disappear of the DPC archives.
I observe that Alfredo has stayed outside the debate ,perhaps waiting trully useful opinion begin to arrive (?)

I received a pm from alfredo specifically addressing my comment and inviting me to view this thread and "post my opinion". After reading this thread from start to finish it seemed I was better served by defending my comment (innocuous as it was) and explaining why I commented on it at all.
Bluntly - I did not like the photo. I never realized it would be a problem to vote according to my own tastes.
I am not concerned with noble context or any of that. I am presented with an image with very little information other than the visual representation of someones interpretation of a challenge topic. Nothing more. I can only vote on what is provided. Had I been told that the photo was a PSA then it might have made more sense but I doubt it would have changed my opinion of the photo.
And I have not missed out on some relevant message the photographer was trying to impart. If I did then it is his failing not mine.
I was glad to have found DPC because of the negative and constructive criticism. I looked forward to what I could learn from input concerning my submissions as well as those of others. I am beginning to suspect that I may have been naive about that aspect. I'll just enjoy the photos and try to improve my scores in the future.

I didn't want to over-quote. If I have missed something that changes the meaning of what I did leave in, please advise.
