Pop-up ads finally come to the cell phones. Daily I'm getting automated phone call from Cendant corp which offers travel promotions!?
here is my e-mail to them:
I'm receiving daily phone calls from Cendant corp. on my Cell phone for vacation promotions which amount to harassment!
On the other side of the phone is recorded message not a live person.Phone calls are coming from the number (954)935-4440 and message claims to be from Cendant. If this activity does not stop I will be forced to seek legal help!
thanks,
Kosta Trimovski
I don't know what to do about it, to change my number? |

Hey Kosta, have you registered the number with the Federal "do not call" list? If so, the sender could be liable for very big fines if they keep calling you. Also, contact your cell provider and see if there is anything that can be done, like blocking the number.

I had trouble with Fax spam! It was terrible and many of the same 'junk-spam' that comes in email. I finally got them all stopped but it was a mess.
They're out there waiting to spam us anywhere, anytime, any place! |

Pitsman, NO phone number is safe. Most of the telemarketers use a PC that auto dials a range of numbers until it calls ALL of them sucessfully. But they should remove the numbers that are on the do not call list.
And is not very easy for your wireless provider to block the calling number (well its actually VERY simple but there is TONS of red tape to go through and all sorts of legal stuff involved to do it properly and legally), unless there is severe fraud involved or the wireless provider gets an enormous amount of complaints against the same calling number.
