Well, i think with leopard coming out, i'm going to take the plunge into mac world and get my first mac. Been using PC's for 20 years+. Stuck with it because of games and work and need for some specific software. I no longer game, do java development for a living and things like open office maturing my need for windows dependence has greatly diminished. Linux isn't where i want it to be (for home use).

I'm looking for advice on what things you experienced after making the switch and issues with things you had to get used to or couldn't do anymore if any. Things like networking issues (VPN,etc), IM's, torrent stuff, surfing issues, and anything else you can think of. Customizing, admin stuff or other features as well would be great to hear about :)

I went down to a local store and spent about 15 minutes playing around on one. Figuring out how to change settings, browsing and what not and was quite impressed and loved the interface. Without having used any mac computer since i was a kid in school, most of the stuff i was able to intuitively figure out. Although the tiny wheel button will take some getting used to, it felt really weird.

Thanks for any input.

One good Mac is all you will need. The one that I use is an 04 model G5. I recently upgraded to OSX 10.4 which I like a lot better. The only issue so far is being able to make discs that windows computers are comfortable with. I didn't have the problem until I put the new OS in the G5.
I love not having to think about virus problems, and secretly smile when the conversation goes there with my windows friends. : )
You may want to check out mac.com and see about getting a .mac account. It is a very well spent $100 per year if you plan to be a Mac user.
