On the average day with no shoots planned. How many times on average to you guys snap a picture... and how many do you ultimately end up deleting?
I'm curious to know because sometimes I think I'm not shooting enough quantity and may be missing a lot.
I have a point and shoot 6mp that I don't carry with me 'cause it just doesn't compare to my bulky Nikon D80. I guess I'm starting to think...what can it hurt?

100 to 150 shots a weekday; 250 to 300 on weekends. I keep every shot I take. Not sure why, but I don't delete even the worst ones. |

Wow, where and how do you store them all? |

Last year was the first year I had my digital camera. In total I took 3500 photos (about 10 a day). This year I am already up to 8500 (about 25 a day) |

I;m not shooting as much lately, even with my new 40D and XT-IR.
But I do recall one day in Hawaii, I actually shot 1000 pix!!

I used to do that until recently. Even half a terabyte fills up fast. Now I use Lightroom to import and organize all my RAW files, and I reject (and delete) plenty of shots from a single session. My sanity is restored. :/ |

I need my sanity back too. Does lightroom have a better workflow than Bridge? |

I think so. I gave up Bridge to use Lightroom.

i've started using lightroom as well, it's great :)
until earlier this year i had multiple copies of my pictures all over the place, never sorted and could never find them to process so they just sat there mounting up all over the place, until i got lightroom and decided to sort them out, i had 90GB's of photos now skimmed down to 30GB's of sorted, keyworded, properly backed up easy to find photos :) |

I generally use a laptop with 160 gigs of HD space. However, I use an online back-up service that has no limits on how much I can store/backup. I download all pics to hard drive, when all files indicate they have been backed up, I delete them from local HD and use the remote HD for access. The utility I use for reviewing pics works great with the so called 'back-up drive' of the service so finding a shot is easy. |
