In my first ever challenge entry I selected the "indepth critique on my submission" checkbox, but so far no critique. Does it normally take a while to get one, or what? |

A group of volunteers called the "Critique Club" will go through and give in depth comment when they have time.
I don't know how many pictures are on the site or how many volunteers are on the site. Most people work, go to school, etc so it's difficult to say when a certain shot will be critque.
From my understanding a picture is presented randomly and critiqued before they can receive another shot to critique.
Anybody that wants to help can click on Community> Critique Club and volunteer. |

I think bc of sheer volume that not all your shots requesting an indepth critique will actually get one. It usually happens a while after so keep going back to your shots & see if you get one.
PS Welcome to DPC!
PSS Faidoi! What up?

I have gotten one critique. I wouldn't expect to get them. They are time consuming and I"m sure a lot of people always just click the box.

I just did two critiques tonight, both from the Chinese Zodiac Challenge. There are currently 157 images still awaiting critique. I try to do at least one a day or more if I have time. But right now I need to sleep :)

Patience, hopefully we will get to all of them |

Faidoi has pretty much summed up how it works. I am a member of the Critique Club and always look forward to making in depth comments on shots. However due to an incredible work load I have not been able to do as many critiques this last two or three weeks as I would like. Unfortunately the way the system works, if you do not recieve a critique one week after the voting has ended you will not get one for that shot.
Due to the large numbers of critiques requested each challenge and the large numbers of entries in some challenges, we have to rotate out shots that do not get randomly chosen. This is very unfortunate but needed to make the system work!
I can NOT recomend enough joining the Critique Club! This will do a couple of things. It makes it more likely that all shots that request a critique will get one. It also will improve the way that you take photographs because it forces you to see things through the eye of a camera!

Thanks for the info folks!
Since it has been a while I guess I will not be getting a critique. I guess I will just have to go by the Wow̢۪s and Great̢۪s that I got in comments and assume that I did a fantastic job and the voters just do not understand true art when they see it. Damn I̢۪m good!
Regards,
Mick
