I have a charge on my credit card from this company and I have no idea how this happened. I don't know who they are and I don't remember ever going to that website before.
I contacted the credit card company and they are taking care of it but who are these people?!?! If I wasn't into photography I wouldn't be second guessing myself about the charge...but why would I need royalty free photos?
Weird.

Sounds like your card info got ripped off. Lots of ways for that to happen. Couple years ago I discovered I had run up five thousand bucks in credit card charges in two days. Medical exam study books, two train tickets to somewhere in Italy, some luggage. Sounded like I had a great time. Too bad I wasn't there. |

I did hear about these guys, in fact, bought a monthly subscription to their service. wouldn't say the have any mindblowing pics, but some ain't too bad. their support is very friendly though - talked to a guy on the phone for like 20 mins! good luck to these guys, looks like they are just starting up. |

I thought it was important to post here too, because this is the first site that came up when I searched for "Photomeridian.com" and "charge"... My mom just got charged $9.99 by them and asked me if I had heard of the company... Also--check out "Jack26" who posted that he "bought a monthly subscription to their service" and that "their support is very friendly".... He registered the day he made that post (Of course, I registered today too, so I could chime in about the unauthorized charge). Obviously they are trying to do a little damage control so they can stay in business longer. Has anyone reported the company to a consumer fraud organization? We should do something....

I googled photomeridian after receiving a mysterious charge from them on my card and found a link to this thread..so here I am! Just wanted to chime in about the charge..For me, it's really odd because there was only that one odd charge on my account from them...no other gazillion dollar purchases...so it made me question myself as to whether or not I really signed up with them..but I'm positive that I haven't...Anyone have any ideas? |

I haven't used my Bank of America credit card for a while, had in on zero balance, and was pretty easy to spot a $9.99 amount on it I can't recall doing it myself. Contacted the bank this morning but haven't heard from them yet.
I have no idea how could this happen.

I, too, got a bogus charge on my credit card from this photomeridian.com for around $10, but that's not the end of it. Just last week, I noticed a charge on a DIFFERENT card from another site with royalty-free artwork/photos. This one was called templateglobus.com for nearly the same amount! Also, I disputed a charge from another royalty-free photo site for $12.50 several months ago on the same credit card as the photomeridian charge. It looks like some type of scam. I'm trying to look into it. I don't do ANYTHING with digital photos except take pictures at family gatherings and then put them on CD's. The only reason I registered with dpchallenge.com is because I did a search for photomeridian.com on Google and I found this forum and wanted to post to it. I hope it helps someone. |

Same thing... $9+ charge on my credit card statement. Discovered along or about 12/16/07. Called the phone number on my CC statement. Got "all our help desk agents are busy, leave a message". I left a message I think, but then found templatesglobus.com on Google. Sent a support desk ticket through their web site, requesting a call back and explanation. No call back, just emails promising that they will reverse the charge if I send them the last 4 characters of the card that was charged. Well, that got me wondering if this was a phishing email.
Here is what is interesting... I just noticed that I have received 3 email responses from an Eric Eric Robertson, (210) 807-4272... and all 3 emails have listed my email prefix, supposed id, and supposed IP address. All 3 emails show the same email prefix, but 3 different IDs, and 3 different IP address. So pretty apparent that there is fraud going on here in some fashion.
Also interesting... I only use this card for gas, so it was pretty apparent on my statement. I guess it is possible that there is some sort of breach within the supposedly encrypted online/automatic approval process for gas stations? Mentioning this in case others that have this problem might have also used their card for gas recently. Using small fraudulant charges can go a long time before causing great concern by the victoms... a common hack/fraud tactic I think. Flying under the radar so to speak.
In any case, I will now report this to my CC company. I encourage everyone to keep others posted on what they encounter with this. 12/20/07 11"47am PST. kb |

Kbrews,
I think you might be on to something..I used my debit MC for gas (Arco) stations and supermarkets like Ralphs, Albertsons, etc...mainly I kept them to offline brick and mortar store purchases thinking my card would be less likely to be used fradulently...but I guess not. I'm sure the credit card companies are looking into this by now..hopefully... |
