Very nice work! It's hard to get good people shots, especially indoors and in action. You did a great job.

Not sure if I can just drop in here... or if this even fits... but here's a little series I completed this weekend looking at the destruction of buildings in Korea. This was just one site that I looked at, I hope to do more. Let me know what you think.

1 - The Wall

2 - The Door

3 - Leftover

4 - SK

5 - Always

Again, I hope I'm not intruding here.

Here is my entry. Not as large as I was hoping for, but it will do for now, this is something I will be continuing to do for the next year or so.

Racism Photo-Essay

Cyler, the story is turning out amazingly good so far! The pictures are really striking and after looking into their eyes you NEED to know their story. You've done a really great job and I envy the way that you've been able to come up with an idea in your head and make it come alive. Great work.

I've been in a LOT of sociology classes and there is a lot of talk about racism. There can be some really interesting and heart wrenching discussions. Somehow though... it always turns out... that I, myself, feel a little bit offended after hearing about all the racism these people are experiencing. I feel targeted as a proponent of the racism just because I'm white. So... for me... sometimes I feel that talking about these issues doesn't really do a ton of good... but only gives us kind of a false reassurance, like, "well... at least we're not ignoring it". Which... i guess... is a start. But, it seems to me like we need to reach the next step. And, I think that your approach to this photo essay is a step in the right direction. The fact that you care enough to let these people speak about truth puts you miles ahead of others. But, I still think there needs to be more. I think that you need to continue this project for more than "the next year". Maybe for a lifetime. Because it's not really something that should have a beginning or an end.
