Amazon has different vendors, and there's only 1 at that price ($2199). Current price at B&H is $100 more ($2299).
But it's nice to see the drop in price. Now if only the 30D would follow suit.

note that this usually occurs shortly before the replacement arrives. Hold on to your wallets folks!

It could be because Nikon is about the unleash The Beast AKA D3.

I thought it was already unleashed...
Got me eyeing up a bunch of Nikon glass, but it's going to be a long time before I can afford it anyhow... A used 5D will probably be my poison next summer. |

It is now $2099 for the 5D body only on amazon
5D for $2,099
I hope the 5D replacement comes out soon. I want one bad. I know that about the time I buy a 5D that the new one will come out then I will kicking myself for not waiting. :-)

I hope you have about $4000 saved up :)
However, if a replacement does come out any time soon then it means the 5d price may drop even more... and a replacement does seem likely because the 5d finally has some competition in the full frame market (at eveyrday prices).
