Just rumors, mind you, but it may be that Sony will be introducing three new DSLRs next year. At a recent press event at Sonimagfoto in Barcelona, Spain, it was reported that a successor to the A100 is coming, as well as a lower-price model. It also plans to expand its lens selection form 24 to 40 within the next two years, many of which will be new designs from Carl Zeiss.

Well...they just released the A700, 12.2MP, at $1400 (w/o lens). There was discussion/rumor of an A900 Pro Level (possibly full frame) version.

I can't imagine why'd they release something in a "lower-price model" than the A100. 10MP is pretty much the minimum out there now for DSLR's.

dyxum.com is a good source for info as well (forums, etc...), dedicated to Minolta, KM, and Sony products.

And until they make something that's different from all the other DSLR's out there, they're just another off brand with questionable support and a lacking lineup of accessories to me.

If they made a live-view only DSLR (technically it wouldn't be a DSLR or a rangefinder, but closer to an SLR in regards to the viewing) in the Leica M (more specifically, Konica M) mount to accept the Konica rangefinder lenses that are still in production, that would be different enough for me to start paying attention. I wouldn't use the live view, but with primes it's no problem to use external optical VF's.

Same goes for if they made a digital version of the Hexar.
