Hi my dear friends from DPC!
Let me exlpain and ask for your wisdom:
I shoot mainly weddings for $$$. In weddings I need to do proofs, so I need to have small sized jpegs for printing (1000pixels max size). In RSPremium this was easy and fast.
But know I'm with a dillema. What to use to substitute the RSP? Because I changel laptop and I don't have it anymore. I tryed the Lightroom and I liked it but is not so easy or intuitive as RSP. I saw also the DXO Pro and it seems to work really nice but I don't think it as a quick proof option and other wise is too slow, but it seems to work really nice.
Want is your experience and what do tyou suggest?

I like ACDSee Pro for my wedding work. Great batch options and image rating. THats just the surface... great program.

I don't have the cd of RSP, an for future cameras as the D300 it will not support it.
Regarding ACDSee, I haven't tryed it. I'll take a peek.

why didnt you like Lightroom? as a working photographer it has speeding up my workflow massively, I know of a couple of other working togs on here (most notably  dwterry) who swear by it these days, and they are all RSP converts.

I'm using LR on a laptop. Often I'm processing images in my van, in between wedding and reception. LR is fast enough. But you're absolutely right ... nothing compares to the speed I got from RSP. I miss how quickly I was able to go through and review, pick out and process my images in RSP. On the other hand, I feel the output I get from LR is head and shoulders above RSP. So it's a good trade.

Let me ask a question:
When using the RSP I copyed the files of the changes that I did in editing (like converting to B&W) ant then I got the same changes in my office pc How does that processes with LR? Are the changes embbebed in the metadata?

You can have LR export the metadata to .XMP or ... I have LR configured to generate the .XMP on import and keep the .XMP always up to date.
The advantage is, I can then copy all of my images TOGETHER with the .XMP files from one machine to the next, and the new machine picks up the LR settings immediately.
Having the external .XMP files also gives me the freedom to blow away the LR database from time to time. Which I do. After awhile, LR just gets dog slow. I think it's because I'm importing thousands of images at a time. And pretty soon the database is just too full. As soon as I delete the database ... boom ... full speed ahead.
