This is an HDR I did this summer which I want to print big (20x30). I think it's nice but it can be made better with a little photoshop magic. Feel free to edit, but list editing steps please!
Thanks
Harry

I'm not sure how/(why?) you want to make a picture with subdued tones "pop" ... in what way do you want it to change or are you dissatisfied with it? |

Print it on metalic paper and call it good !
I think that would look great

Did subtle changes. I wasn't exactly sure what you were looking for.
Basically I:
1. Did a selective curves adjustment to darken the foreground/sky a little
2. Used Shadow/Highlight tool to bring out details in the rocks.
3. I felt that the white spot towards the edge of the image really made it difficult to look at so I used a filter which fills in transparent pixels with those directly around it. Basically filled in with the yellow/orange.
4. Brought back the yellow saturation by about -7.
Don't know if this made a difference, but I thought I'd give it a wack.

What you did at the fire really made a difference IMO. Something bothered me there but i couldn't put my finger on it. Looks good, thanks! |

No problem. When you have very bright spots toward the edge of an image, it tends to draw the viewer away from the main focus and ultimately detracts from the image itself. Learned that from a photography professor :) |
