I met a cousin of my wife;s this summer and he told me he used to take photos and had a web site. I just took a peek. I really like them and would like to share them with you all.

They are BW Magnum style photos

TJ Hayden

do you agree?

Photos are OK, I strongly dislike the site navigation!

I didn't even get as far as the photos, the way the site took over my browser peed me off so much I shut it down straight away.

Shame, as I'd certainly view the photos otherwise.

I only saw one photo, I could not take the navigation, lol did not know what to click... I also did not like that the site decides to resize my browser window.

Ok so I gave it another try and he does have nice photos, lol thats after I realized you have to click on that fist photo.

Yup... Site is way too slow for me to stick around. The shots I saw looked pretty darn cool though.

I checked out about 10 shots on there... i'm quite bored now.

'Interesting' navigation though, but I expected a bit more punch in his shots, not shots of a girl walking through a glass door.

A bit 'arty' for my tastes but maybe I just don't get it.

Wow!

I said there are some photos I like, NOT
Check out this swanky web page layout

...but I guess maybe they are too 'arty' for some.
And I always thought photography was art, how dumb of me...

There are a few stunner's in there. Very nice work but you should definitely let the guy know about the negative reaction his site is drawing on the navigation side.

Holy Cow - these photos are MAGIC!

I think he's fabulous - hope he's still doing it.

I like the wedding shots a lot... and the one where the woman is being greeted by the deer... her expression is priceless...

the shot of the pregnant woman is well done... I like a lot of the looking for tourists series... and the photos that are part of the book of poetry... the grain is a nice touch... probably not a lot the photographer could do if he didn't like it other than working in a dark room - I take it these photos are on film?

Thank you for a look at another style

Photos are great, but if it's hard to navigate, it's hard to appreciate his work.

Nice slice of life images. I also want to add I had absolutely no problem with site, navigating or otherwise and it loaded super quick. I also use the latest edition of Firefox....found my way around his site immediately.

I really enjoyed the "Looking for Tourists" portfolio, quite intriguing.

Absolutely, you said check out the photos, not the site.
However the display environment IS relevant to the viewing experience.
Heck, there are many artists and photographers whose work I admire but if I had to walk through a field of horse shit to get to them I don't know that I'd bother! Especially if I didn't even know whether the work was to my taste before hand!

Can I be honest without hurting anyone's feelings? They look like typical grainy B&W candid snapshots. He's captured some nice moments and expressions, but I've seen better on a weekly basis in the challenges on this site.

I concur. I fail to see the magic in any of his shots. They're like the ones you take, then see later on and think "what the hell was I thinking?".
