New: Now keep track of your most recent comments received at the bottom of the My Stats page. Maybe one day we'll have a forum - if I totally redesign the site. But this is a step in the right direction.

This week rjkstesch invites us to edit a slick chrome chopper. Note the creative (aka expert) editing rules this week.

Check out this week's challenge over at PPChallenge, and be sure to check the challenge description and editing rules. Thanks Rebecca!

Look around the site to see what it's all about. Browse through complete challenges, contribute your own photos for everybody to edit, compete and vote weekly! Sign up now - it's free and exclusively for DPC members.

Cheers,
-Jeff

I have been participating for last two three challenges. I liked the idea of PPC very much. But after these 2 - 3 challenges my feeling is that the people there only wants to see enhancements to the original photo. But if you try to do anything different people do not like it.

Not complaining but thinking that this idea that the submission should somehow be close to original one and yet enhanced. this idea alone is not good. It hampers creativity.
In the current challenge I got comments that my entry is too much of alteration from original. Left me thinking wouldn't it be great if we start to think about creativity too rather than just photo enhancements.

I will be trying to enter submissions in which I try to do different than others. And I hope others also think about doing the same.
It will only help learning.

Further how about a caption or note to be added that others could see. So that one could enter what he / she wants to do with the entry.

The goal of this site, much like DPC itself, is to help people learn to edit by example. Like DPC, you're free to do what you like, but in the end the voters decide if they also like it.

There are a lot of sites that are for digital art and manipulation - this one is specifically aimed at photographic post processing, which makes it unique and interesting. It also has a DPC look and feel, and is only for DPC users, which makes it friendly. =)

The aim is: learn how to take an unprocessed photo and make it shine.

If for you this involves getting creative, go for it. But again, voters will be voters.

Cheers,
-Jeff
