I am preparing to build my own digital picture frame out of my wife's old laptop.

I am already prepared to manage my own server that will be in charge of distributing any photos within a specific folder out to the laptop via Wi-Fi.

I will continue to do my own research but can anyone recommend a piece of software to run on the laptop that will play a slideshow of all the pictures in a specified folder? I would prefer that the slideshow started automatically once the application is launched. This software can be for Windows or Linux. I don't care which.
