My dad's 300D is giving the Err99 message. Does anybody know any repair shops in Seattle or the Eastside that can do any diagnosing or is it best just to ship to Canon?

Have you tried mounting a different lens on the camera? Err99 could be a lens issue, although it wasn't on my 300D. I got a little rain on it on vacation in europe a few years back, 2 days later it just started working again.

Jason - my guess would be that it is best just to ship it to their Ca repair facility. They did good work for me on a set of IS Binocs a year or so ago. I'm not sure any of the local shops will touch them anymore.
