Help! i need some advice on how to edit portraits and smooth the skin and make the eyes stand out a little more...like this photo here:
photo by JeffDay ( titled Allie Color).

so please any advice on that would be greatly apprieciated.

ps. i have photoshop so if you know how to do these things on that editing software that'd be great! thanks!

I really didn't do much in photoshop, all I did was highlight the whites and the blues of her eyes with the paintbrush, set to overlay with opacity at 22% and the flow at 70%.

She has real soft pretty skin so I didn't have to do anything there. I do remember the lighting was lovely late evening, that helps.

okay so i tried and took everyone's advice and here's how my first two turned out...

(keep in mind i am NOT a photoshop professional..haha)

im going to fix the previous one and then repost it.

Not bad!! Not bad at all! I would tone down the whiteness on the kid's eyes juuuuust a hair though. Otherwise, nice edits!!

Yeah the bottom one is looking good, is that her natural color?

What lenses do you have, you don't have any listed.

Should be the 18-55mm kit lens unless they were running a special ;)
