I just closed a very important image without saving, by accident.

Before I touch photoshop again, is there any way to retreieve it? Is it still in the memory??

Open PS, choose File/Open Recent... it should be on the list. But.... all changes made since last save are gone.

Read the thread title and thought maybe you had been looking through my portfolio. :)

Now I see it's worse than that, even! Sorry, but I think you're out of luck on this one.

Yeah that's what I was worried about. The editing, it took so freakin long. Shoot.

Photoshop should build in memory for accidental deletion.

On a positive note, I always like my re-edits better than my original edits -- maybe you'll have the same luck. :)

Not so positive note: Cindi re-edits each photo about 25 times.

You're stuck with the loss.

I find myself saving my work AT LEAST with each "layer" added !....sometimes more...

If you are able to fly faster than light-speed, start flying around the world opposite way world spins... when time start winding backwards, go as much as you like, and start flying other way until world start spinning the correct way again. Now, go back wherever you were, and tell yourself to save before close the program.

If this doesn̢۪t fix your problem, call Microsoft. They are the next thing to Superman for fixing computer problems, if you can pay $350 an hour :P

At least you only closed, rather than deleted :)

Retrieving something from deletion is a better chance than not saving and closing an application.
Usually application uses the memory and flushes everything at closing, but saving goes into HD, and you can't delete antyhing while they are open, application locks the file. Some programs have auto save function, but not all, and the ones capable of auto saving need to be set that way. I know like Word has this auto save, just in case of power failure, but I don't know any image program has that.
