Went to Winter Park, CO for a hike yesterday. Nowhere on the weather websites did it say it snowed.....quite a nice surprise. Blue skies and changing leaves sure made it a beautiful day. Didn't see any critters running around, so I only used my 15-30 the whole time.
It started warming up around 10:30 to the point where the snow was melting and turned everything to mud. I drove home with no shoes/socks on.

Thank you for the pictures! I saw the snow in the mountains on my way to church yesterday morning, and was thinking how badly I wanted to drive up there. Glad at least one of us was able to see the snow up close! I am sure it will be down here on the plains in no time. |

Nice pics. We had 'termination dust' on the mountain tops about three weeks ago here in Alaska. Now the snow is working it;s way down the mountains. The smaller mountains don't have any yet, but the larger ones are about 1/3 to 1/2 way down with snow. If you care to check out my portfolio I added some recent ones there with snowy mountains.

Yep... we were up near St. Mary's Glacier at Lake Lomond on Saturday and it snowed on us. I wasnt quite thinking when I left the 75 degree Denver weather in shorts and sandals. Needless to say we didnt stay very long. |
