Okay, for those who've been complaining lately about DNMC shots doing well, look at the still life with motion results.

Several really nice shots occupy the lowest parts of the results because the votes said they were too far from the challenge.

Guess the complaining finally got to the voters? ;-)

mine is somewhere in there too.

I realised it during the challenge. But I don't mind. i like the shot.

I thought raish's shot which finished 47th was the best one in the lot.

I estimated during voting that about 50% of the images did not meet the challenge. Obviously people who submitted do not know what a still life is. Or they did not include some sort of motion. But I am glad the DNMCs did not slip through and win anything this time, and that most voters DO know what a still life is. Where was MAK for this one BTW??

Guess my shot is one of those that levyj413 is celebrating the failure of in terms of the challenge. To be honest when I entered it I thought people might not get it, but bottom line is that I do and I still like the shot

No, actually, I managed to squeeze you into my own broadened definition, which required at least some thought of how to arrange the subject. And heck, you even included an actual still life in your shot.

Speaking of which, craigester, MAK was in there with what I thought was another creative take on the subject:

It was creative but I was expecting another top shot from him after
.

Sorry - I meant to say "in the top 10".

I was rather surprised at the number of people who "couldn't see what was moving" in mine -- even with the help of the title. At least it broke 5 ...

Jeffrey...I was obviously in a bit of a Monday morning grump today!!!

To be honest I was not too concerned about whether you felt my shot DNMC or not (though I am glad you squeezed it in). I guess I was more peeved by the title of the thread. I do appreciate that some of my shots (and others) are a tad abstract in their interpretation. When I post these I appreciate that they wont appeal to everyone (that reflects in my scoring) but I just thought it was a shame that you appeared to be gloating in the fact that people had been given low marks for thinking outside the box. One of the great things about DPC is the wide variety of tastes that people have and I like to think of these as not being right or wrong, just different

Anyway sorry if I appeared a little terse. No offense was meant

My shot was not the conventional still life picture, but I still liked it. :)
