So maybe I am a couple of f-stops below proper exposure BUT I cant Find a workflow that will allow the building of a IPTC thesaurus that will carry between directories correctly.

Here is what I am doing ...
Pull images from Card
Open directory in Bridge
cull tag and keyword in bridge
close bridge
Import directory into I-match do an IPTC Import (Imatch SUX for IPTC)
manipulate images in CS3
Save into a upload directory for the agencies

For the next batch I have to do the same thing again EXCEPT the keywords from bridge are gone so I cant reuse ones from before.

Is there a application that I can build a catalog (that can handle 225K images with out being as slow as the Queen Mary) ) AND IPTC (well) AND versioning

some options are ACDSee Pro, Extensis Portfolio, and Lightroom.

i just started with Portfolio and Lightroom in an effort to cull down my collection, but i will eventually be keywording everything as well. follow along here.

Hey Rob... I have tried a solution with Lightroom ... it is not as smooth as Bridge for keywording... Extensis and ACDSee will not manage a keyword thesaurus

And NOTHING manages versioning well at all...

I might have to talk to my coder friends in India ... seems like there may be a need here

ALSO for a Catalog application IMatch is actually very good... It just does not do IPTC well
