I have a question, if one gets the same Raw file and creates three different exposures from it (the same picutre) and makes an HDR, is that violate the Basic Editing rules?
I know we cannot merge different photos to add to the original, but if we get the original with three differnet exposures to get an even exposure does it violate the rules?
I just want to make sure :)

It would require separate layers of data to be merged, and that's not allowed in Basic. |

Thank you very much for clarifying that :)

If I am not mistaken, you are allowed to use tonemapping in Photomatix Pro on a single copy of a RAW image. This produces an effect very similar to standard HDR used on multiple exposures |

You can also get something like that in Photoshop by converting a single file to 32bit, then back to 8bit (adaptive). |
