I have to bow out this weekend. Between my daughter getting asked out on her first date (to homecoming no less) and my left leg acting up and my doctor telling me "No hiking for you." I just can't do it. I was so looking forward to this too.

The weather is looking ok for the weekend, not great, but ok. Here's tomorrow's forecast:

A mix of clouds and sun in the morning giving way to a few showers during the afternoon.
High 56F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

Sunday looks almost identical.

So make sure you bring a variety of clothes. The mornings will be quite cool (lows around 40, and if it's at all wet or windy, it will feel colder). So I recommend bringing layers and some gear for wet weather just in case.

Remember, though, unstable weather can make for some dramatic landscapes!

Yeah the weather does look on the colder side, around Ithaca valley (lower areas), trees were just showing up some color - on the hills colors have changed nicely i.e. around Sapsucker and Mt Pleasent. I will check out Bebe lake this evening and give out the report later tonight.

Note to myself and others : Charge up your batteries, empty your memory cards, you have a lot of shooting to do :)

Now there's an inspirational way to say it! And since we'll be doing some falls on Sunday, the cloud cover will help with that, as well. Hopefully it won't rain much, though. We managed okay in the rain last time, but it got a little trying after a while.

OK, I hope everyone who is coming is ready for this.

We are meeting

tenfrozentoes at Wagner's Winery on Seneca Lake between 6:45 and 7:00 am, so we will need to depart my place no later than 6:15 am tomorrow morning. If you are going to have trouble meeting up at that time, please give me a call on my cell phone so we are not waiting for you.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm psyched for this!

I'm still game to do this -- hell, I'm going to go out and shoot come hell or high water. Just want to make sure everyone else is still in.

davidx76. He's on for Saturday. And it looks like

ButterflySis is on for Sunday, not Saturday.

Yes, please do! It really irks me too since I was just on the 90 last weekend and took note of the exit at Geneva! I drove a bit farther and headed north to Redfield.

Nick lives in my area and I pm'd him a while ago - it was cool to see he remembered.

I am most disappointed because I am struggling to learn and the thought of hanging out with other photographers really thrilled me.

As hope springs eternal, I even baked an apple pie last night. I served it to my homeroom kids at lunch when I had to give in to reality.

Guess I'll pass for tomorrow/Saturday. I thought maybe I'd meet up with you for the gorge but I need to be in Rochester by noon so that's pretty much out. If I get back early enough for sunset I'll give you a call.

I'm still planning on Sunday. Besides, 8:00am is more my speed. :-)
