I may be shooting a wedding next year - if I accept and get the job, I would like to get a portable power pack for my SB-800 flash - something that can be worn over the shoulder. Too many times I've missed shots due to batteries (NiMH) crapping out or not recycling fast enough. Anyone have any recommendations?

Go to Quantum Battery Packs and click on 'Find Products/Product Finder'. Then select your flash brand and also your flash model in the drop down menus and a whole range of compatible products will come up. I tried this and found quite a list of products for your flash.

These products are pricey but the best.

If you're lucky enough to find one, the Nikon SD-8A is very handy.

You could definitely spend more on a Quantum pack, but I honestly didn't find the performance to be that much better. What small improvement there was could not justify (for me anyway) that much of an investment in a proprietary battery pack.

Just my opinion though, I know many people who swear by their Quantums.
