I have just installed my second Logitech Marble Mouse. And just like the first one (the first one had other issues also and didn't last longer than one day on my PC), neither of them allow me to AutoScroll, Universal Scroll or any damn scroll. For example...the default setting for Autoscroll is to click the two large buttons together and this activates the 'scroll' icon. Then you just move the ball up or down. Simple. Now by doing those steps on this PC I sometimes see the icon for a millisecond before it is replaced with an hourglass, which leads to nothing. If I move the cursor from the spot the hourglass disappears and we are back to square one.

The feature is there...and no matter what I do it won't work on this PC. It works beautifully on other computers for me. I have tried switching the button controls around...and no difference...I have tried every setting on the Properties box...and no difference.

The store I purchased from haven't seen this issue before.

So is there anybody out there who can help me here.

This is what it looks like.

Be sure the logitech mouse driver is the active driver on this machine. That's the first thing I'd check.

have you checked the mouse settings under control panel, assuming you are using a pc. There are options in the mouse section that may resolve this problem.

edit. duh! you say you are using a pc.

Not without knowing your operating system. And I'm really not that good with this stuff. In theory, using the supplied software, Logitech will instruct your machine to use its driver in preference to whatever mouse driver was up before. On my machine I have 3 mouse drivers now, the generic windows one, the one that runs my wacom tablet, and a logitech driver. There's a place to check and see which one is enabled. It's probably in your control panel, in your mouse info. That's where it is in my Windows XP. Follow the links to more detail.

In the CP the mouse section will have tabs ofr each mouse driver/hardware you have installed. You can choose to enable which ever one you want.

When I go to CP/Mouse...it only brings up the properties and tabs for the Trackball...there is no mention of any other mouse.

It says Mouse Driver version 9.79 so that tells me it should be right. Also..when I change the properties of other buttons on the mouse...they all work as I want. But no matter what button I try to put to Auto Scroll...it just won't take effect.

Hey...you were all right...I think. For some reason a second mouse icon appeared in my tray....I right clicked and exited...and suddenly I have my auto scroll. The sad part is...that old mouse isn't showing up in my Add/Remove programs listing...so I don't know how to get rid of it. I have also looked in my Programs folder...so if anyone has any ideas...I am all ears.

check under device manager by right clicking the 'puter icon or going in the the my computer properties. You can uninstall the driver for that mouse, which should be the only thing to uninstall.

Good luck! Glad you got your gizmo to work!
