i just checked a lot of photoshoots (fashion) and the photographers have some kind of ring flash attached in the lens, my question is, is that a special ring flash? or is just the same ring flash that is used for macro? is there fashion ring flash and macro ring flash? or are just the same

thanks in advance

I'm sure you can use the macro version of the ring flash but there is a portrait ring flash which is probably much more powerful (and bigger). I know alienbee makes one.
