I was never a cat lover, till Tiki came along. Wish him luck, tomorrow he gets neutered!

Good luck Tiki!

Gary, nice close up of Tiki's face. The clarity, shading and the shine of the eyes makes me feel like he's right in the room with me. The expression is super.

another photo from thursday still testing out the new lense
seems to produce fairly well for a cheaper lense.

My kitty has such an intense expression here, I thought it was so cute.
Too bad cat pics aren't popular here.

Tim - I like this one best:

I'd crop the top a bit - puts the bird on that ol' thirds line. I like the black and white of the bird - high contrast against the gray bark and blue sky.

I really like the latest shot of Mt. Mansfield too.

We were up this weekend, but I didn't bring the camera :( Sunday there were some super glowing clouds catching the light over General Stark Mountain - the wind was whipping them up to the peak like waves up to the shore. Beneath the clouds were white frost-coated evergreens rimmed in gold. We were on the east side of the mountain -
Oh well,
next time....

Found this -

I like the stark black and white contrast. Nice range of grays in the snow and I like the fringe of plants at the top.

well appreciate the comments - not sure what you mean by 'found this' though...

was planning on going to stowe this past week, to get some action shots, but the day i had off was kind of gray and drab...

as far as the crop goes, the tree trunk, i thought, leads you believe the rule of thirds is being adhered to, and i liked the framing of the bird. over all i am pretty happy with the lense - does a good job close up, and with a steady hand, nicely full range wide aperture. does have a issues with strong backlighting... but not too bad.

here's one from the other day.

again, the branch, i think, deceives the eye, even though the subject is centered in the frame - the rule of thirds is followed

BTW - always bring the camera ;}

for those that liked my shallow DOF entry - here are some other shots from the same day..

was trying to simulate sunlight indoors at night, with a 60w halogen flood, and a 400iso - and enough shutter to stop action.

comments welcome ;}
